Red Bend’s vCurrent(R) Mobile Software Now Available in the SoftBank 810SH and 811SH Mobile Phones From Sharp

FRAMINGHAM, MA — (MARKET WIRE) — October 23, 2006 — Red Bend Software, the market share leader in firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updating solutions for mobile phones, today announced that it has installed its vCurrent® Mobile FOTA client software in Sharp’s latest mobile handsets — the SoftBank 810SH and SoftBank 811SH.

The SoftBank 810SH and SoftBank 811SH, which Sharp began supplying to Softbank Mobile in September, are 3G/GSM mobile phones installed with 2.4-inch, high-resolution VGA LCDs. As the feature sets of mobile phones grow increasingly sophisticated, these new models will meet the needs of high-end users wishing to send e-mail and view documents on their mobile phones.

Red Bend’s FOTA client software enables users of the SoftBank 810SH and SoftBank 811SH to upgrade the firmware on their mobile phones via wireless communications. This convenient upgrading feature enables Sharp and SoftBank Mobile to provide consumers with new software versions and mobile features in a quick, simple and cost-efficient manner.

Sharp has already implemented Red Bend’s FOTA client software on the Vodafone 904SH, a 3G mobile telephone announced in mid-March, and the Vodafone 905SH, a handset with built-in One Seg Digital TV rolled out in April.

“Sharp’s repeated adoption of Red Bend’s client software for its new handset models shows that the high performance and credibility of Red Bend’s FOTA technology have gained great trust from Sharp,” said Yoram Salinger, CEO of Red Bend Software. “Our market traction in Japan and around the world is quickly making Red Bend’s software a key enabler in the future of mobile phone services.”

Red Bend’s FOTA products support standards from the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Device Management (DM) group, and can be used with a wide variety of OMA DM-based servers.
