Symantec Experts To Speak At INBOX Conference
Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that Oliver Friedrichs, senior manager, Symantec Security Response and Ken Schneider, chief architect, Symantec Network and Gateway Security Solutions, and will speak at the email industry INBOX conference being held June 1 and 2 in San Jose, Calif.
Friedrichs will participate in a panel entitled “eCrime Calling: The Latest Email-based Phishing Attacks.” The panel, scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. PT on June 1, will discuss the latest data and evolution of phishing attacks. The panel will be moderated by Peter Cassidy, Secretary General of the Anti-Phishing Working Group of which Symantec is a member.
Friedrichs has a wide range of expertise in security technologies, including network assessment, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, penetration testing, and honeypots. As a frequent speaker, he has shared his expertise with many of the world’s most powerful organizations, including the U.S. Secret Service, IRS, DoD, NASA, AFOSI, and Canadian DND.
At 1 p.m. the same day, Ken Schneider will join with other industry leaders on a panel entitled “New Email Security Battlegrounds” to discuss the latest methods of preventing spam. The panelists will examine ways of deflecting unwanted messages from penetrating communication networks through the use of various traffic shaping techniques.
As the chief architect of Symantec’s Network and Gateway Security Solutions, Schneider drives the group’s technology roadmap, system architecture, and key technology partnerships related to the network and gateway security businesses. He is also responsible for the overall network and gateways security technology strategy.
