Xerox Office Makeover Brings New Design snd Technology to Rochester’s Hickok Center for Brain Injury
The previously bland and drab offices of Rochester’s Hickok Center for Brain Injury Inc. now have a warm and inviting look, the latest document technology and fresh ideas on how to work better, thanks to a makeover revealed today as part of the conclusion of Xerox Corporation’s (NYSE: XRX) “Helping Hands” Office Makeover contest.
The Hickok Center for Brain Injury is a nonprofit organization that helps about 100 people a month in Rochester develop the skills needed to live and work again following an accident, stroke or disease. It took crews just days to transform the outdated office into a more productive work space that features Xerox digital color printing systems and software, a soft and appealing interior styled by Brice Cooper of HGTV’s “Design on a Dime,” and new office furniture from The HON Company.
“Our members help run the organization, performing tasks such as answering phones, writing letters and handling other administrative work. This better prepares them for future employment opportunities,” said Elaine Comarella, executive director, Hickok Center for Brain Injury. “Unreliable equipment and bulky old furniture made running the center a challenge. This makeover not only will help our members directly, but also will help our staff more efficiently produce fundraising materials.”
Xerox and its local sales agency, Xerographic Solutions Inc., assessed the center’s work processes and recommended the best combination of hardware and software to improve the nonprofit’s document management needs. The center now has two Xerox Phaser™ color printers, a WorkCentre™ digital color multifunction system, scanning software and Xerox flat-panel monitors.
