High End Commercial Printer Trusts Expansion into Digital Printing to KODAK NEXPRESS 2500 Digital Production Color Press

Determined to find a digital printing solution worthy of the company’s commitment to the highest level of print quality, Acuity has purchased a KODAK NEXPRESS 2500 digital production color press. The NEXPRESS 2500 press boasts speed, productivity and inline features that allow Acuity to offer digital printing that complements its high quality litho printing work, according to Tom Menard, Vice President of Operations.

“We are delighted with our initial foray into digital, on demand, variable printing, and are glad that we chose the NEXPRESS press because the high quality and repeatability of the work from the press speaks for itself,” said Menard. “Nearly from day one we have seen a steady, almost daily increase in the amount of digital print work coming in the front door. Our customers expect the same great quality that they have become accustomed to in our conventional printing and the NEXPRESS press is delivering.”

The NEXPRESS 2500 press meets a variety of needs from entry level to very high volume environments. Customers are able to upgrade presses as they grow their businesses with options to select desired paper capacity, increase processing capability, and add a fifth imaging unit for delivery of spot color, watermarking and protective coating with the GATF InterTech Award-winning KODAK NEXPRESS fifth imaging unit solutions. The fifth imaging unit solutions also enable high impact glossing in conjunction with the KODAK NEXGLOSSER glossing unit. The booklet maker for KODAK NEXPRESS digital production color presses is available inline or offline for collating, stitching, folding, trimming, and creating standard or square back booklets of up to 100 pages.

Located in Ontario, Canada, Acuity specializes in printing 10 micron KODAK STACCATO screening technology on all substrates, including board, plastic, foil and nonstandard materials, as well as conventional litho papers on its conventional equipment. The NEXPRESS press adds to a variety of KODAK solutions at Acuity that include computer to plate devices, digital printing plates and workflow.
