Seagate to Participate in China’s Largest Security Exhibition: China International Exhibition on Public Safety and Security in Beijing

Seagate Technology (NYSE: STX), the world’s leading supplier of hard disc drives, will be a key participant in the 2006 China International Exhibition on Public Safety and Security in Beijing, which runs from October 30 to November 2 at the China International Exhibition Centre. The show ranks as one of the largest and most important security exhibitions in Asia. China remains one of the largest producers and consumers of security devices in the world and demand is set to increase further in the run up to the Olympic Games in 2008.

Seagate will join a special technical session on video surveillance entitled “Seagate Surveillance-A Disc Drive for Every Video Surveillance Application.” The invited speaker will be Mr. Chiu Nan Chu, Seagate’s technical marketing manager, Sales & Marketing for North Asia. Digital video recording for security and surveillance has grown dramatically over the past few years, leveraging hard drives primarily designed for personal computing or consumer electronics products. Recognizing the importance of providing unique storage solutions for specific applications, Seagate has produced the Seagate SV 35 Series, the first hard drive specifically engineered for use in digital video recording for security and surveillance applications. In addition, other products such as Barracuda ES can be optimized for enterprise class video surveillance, as well as its market leading 2.5″ disc drives for mobile or small form factor applications.
