The Performance of SiS771 Surprises Worldwide Media

SiS today gratefully announced that its latest integrated chipset, SiS771, has been appreciated by the worldwide media for its outstanding image quality and the impressive test result of power-saving function. This new-generation chipset is designed for AMD platforms, and embedded with the Mirage™ 3 graphics engine to support DirectX 9.0.

The SiS771 chipset is designed for AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 and Athlon™ 64FX AM2 processors. It integrates AMD’s exclusive HyperTransport™ technology for a transfer rate of up to 8GB (2,000MT/s). Besides, the SiS771 chipset supports Window Vista operating system and dual channel DDR2 memory. In addition, with its advanced Mirage™ 3 graphics engine, the SiS771 chipset support DirectX 9.0 which is able to deliver perfect 2D and 3D effects.

SiS771 chipset is awarded “Product Excellence” by OCworkbench.com, and the editor mentioned that “When we used the integrated Mirage 3, we found that the video display is very clear. That is so even at higher resolutions. It definitely makes it suitable for video playback.” HKEPC.com from Hong Kong is also very impressed by the 3D performance of the SiS771.” The number of texture unit in the Mirage™ 3 has been increased to 16 so that it is expected to have better 3D effects.”

Taiwan “Computer DIY” Magazine published a review article in the Oct. 2006 issue regarding the performance of the SiS771 chipset. It entitled the article “Embedded Super Power-Saving Mirage™ 3 Graphics Engine” and described more detailed distinctness of the SiS771 as the following. “Although it integrates 3D graphics engine, the maximum power-consumption is only 3W. Compared to other companies’, it reduces 40% of power-consumption with its Active Graphics Engine Power-Saving technology.” Such a great test result earns the SiS771 chipset a “Best Performance” award.
