Focus appoints David Brooks as new Business Development Director

Focus Solutions, the provider of adaptive software solutions, has appointed David Brooks as its new Business Development Director to take responsibility for sales, marketing and business development, across the Group.

David joins Focus from the financial services division of Vertex, (formerly Marlborough Stirling), where he held the position of Business Development Director for the Mortgages business unit, focusing on sales, account management, marketing and business consulting.

David has nearly 20 years experience within the IT industry, spending time in the financial services, local government and manufacturing verticals.

David originally trained as an Accountant, moving into the IT industry to work for McDonnell Douglas Information Systems (MDIS) to support their local government financial management software solutions. During his time at MDIS, he gained experience as a Business Consultant prior to becoming one of the founder members of their software sales team. David then moved to BDM Largotim in the Midlands, to run their Automotive Business Unit, responsible for selling and implementing ERP solutions. More recent experience has been at J D Edwards (where he was awarded the prestigious Global Client Manager of the Year award in 1999), as an Account Executive at PeopleSoft and as a Sales Manager at E.piphany where he sold Enterprise CRM solutions into HBOS and Barclays.

Whilst at Vertex FS, David focused on turning around the sales performance of the Mortgages business unit, forming and running a world class business development team that achieved considerable sales success with the likes of Bradford & Bingley and db mortgages (part of the Deutsche Bank Group).

David holds a MBA from Warwick University Business School.
