Symantec Expert To Speak At AREVA T&D User Group Conference

Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that Gary Sevounts, Symantec’s director of power and utilities industry solutions, will be one of the keynote speakers at the AREVA T&D Inc. North American Users Group Conference. AREVA offers customers technological solutions for nuclear power generation and electricity transmission and distribution. AREVA’s T&D division is an active player around the globe. It designs, manufactures and supplies a complete range of equipment, systems and services for all stages in the transfer of electricity, from the generator to the large end-user. Sevounts’ presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7. The four-day event, which has been held for 15 years, takes place in Bellevue, Washington.

As part of the conference’s Security Forum, Sevounts will provide an update on how Symantec helps power and energy companies ensure business continuity, achieve compliance with regulations and industry standards, and avoid disruptions associated with information security breaches and how Symantec products and services compliment AREVA solutions. Symantec representatives will also be on hand to demonstrate components of Symantec’s Power and Energy Solution.

As director of industry solutions marketing for Symantec Corporation, Gary Sevounts is responsible for the definition and introduction of enterprise security solutions in the electric power industry. With more than 13 years of experience in information technology including five years in information security, Sevounts brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Symantec. His work in the electric power industry is highlighted by Symantec’s October 2003 launch of the security solution known as Symantec for Electric Power.
