Symantec to Participate in Panel Discussions at Federal Trade Commission’s Online Consumer Protection Conference

Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced two representatives will participate in panel discussions at the Federal Trade Commission’s conference “Protecting Consumers in the Next Tech-ade,” starting Monday, Nov. 6, and continuing through Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in Washington, D.C. at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium.

Mark Bregman, Symantec’s chief technology officer and executive vice president, will moderate a panel discussion entitled “Computing Power and How it Will Be Used in the Marketplace of the Next Tech-ade,” on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, from 1:15 – 2:45 p.m. EST, in Lisner Auditorium. David Cole, director, product management, Symantec Security Response, will participate in a panel discussion entitled, “Privacy and Security in the Next Tech-ade,” on Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, from 1:45 – 2:45 p.m. EST, also in Lisner Auditorium.

Overall, the conference will examine changes that have occurred in marketing and technology over the past decade, and garner experts’ views on future online challenges and opportunities for consumers, businesses, and governmental bodies.
