Viewpoint Releases Ground Breaking Unicast Video Cube Ad Format Integrating 3D User Control Experience with Engaging Rich Media Content

Expandable Custom Ad Format Features Six Panels of Streaming Video for Richer Interactive Experience

Unicast, the advertising division of Viewpoint Corporation (NASDAQ: VWPT), a leading internet marketing technology company, today introduced the Unicast Video Cube, the latest offering from the company’s Internet Marketing Technology (IMT) product series. The Unicast Video Cube will be offered to both agencies and publishers as a highly customizable rich media ad format. A demo of the Video Cube can be viewed at http://www.viewpoint.com/demos/videocube/.

The Video Cube is an expandable custom ad format that seamlessly integrates multiple media types within one ad unit; including a real-time 3D model that can be textured with multiple 2D images and streaming videos, all of which can be controlled through an interactive Flash interface. This ad format enables users to expand the Video Cube to float on top of a web page, where the 3D Video Cube can be moved, turned and manipulated. Once expanded, users can select and view videos from any one of the six side panels of the Cube with a simple mouse click, or by using the Flash navigation bar below. The navigation interface provides users with content selection menus and video controls that can launch any video into full-screen mode without additional load time.

The Video Cube also includes Unicast’s powerful Pass It On feature, which is a viral marketing feature that enables users to send their favorite video to friends and family by streaming files directly into email messages. The Unicast Video Cube also provides marketers with in-stream tracking and reporting metrics such as video play to completion, and tracking to sales conversion.

Leveraging Viewpoint’s core technology, the 3D Cube breaks new ground in the delivery of compelling, multi-media marketing messaging in a highly interactive and engaging form factor that enables users to select, control, replay and share content. The Cube provides marketers with new opportunities to connect with customers and drive brand awareness through a high degree of interactivity via a user controlled experience. Because of the unique form factor, the Cube can provide a significant lift in key performance metrics including clicks, positive interactions, time spent, data capture and conversion rates.

“We are very excited about the release of the Unicast Video Cube product as a new custom ad format,” said Jason McKay, vice president for Unicast. “This format provides an extremely compelling visual experience, and users control the delivery of the content with the ability to stop and start, replay or view another video at their discretion. In many ways, the technology has altered the way in which content is delivered to users, and the delivery and usability of that content has become just as important as the content itself.”

“The Video Cube is a powerful technology for marketers,” said Patrick Vogt, Viewpoint’s president and CEO. “The 3D Cube interface is remarkable in that it has six panels on which marketers can stream video, capture email data, offer an advergame to play or even provide two way communications with customers via online surveys and live chat. This brings a new level of user control and interactivity to the rich media experience. Furthermore, our User Engagement Index can provide true user tracking reporting including the interactivity rate which measures time spent with roll-overs, panel expansions, hover rate, click to full screen, data capture and viral effects, such as tracking the Pass It On feature. This robust level of user interactivity coupled with business intelligence reporting will be game-changing for marketers.”

Advertising agencies and marketers can create Video Cube content using video, 3D, Flash, or still images within any of the six panels of the Cube. The flexible format allows the creative freedom to customize the look and feel of the Flash interface providing a truly rich and unique branding opportunity. In addition, data capture, send to friend, and other custom features can be incorporated into the ad.

Publishers can also license the Video Cube as an ad-based web application. The Cube provides online publishers with an opportunity to increase the monetization of their existing ad inventory with a truly distinguished product that will attract agencies and marketers looking for new and powerful ways to engage users and to increase their ROI.

Viewpoint’s IMT Product Series integrates three core technologies including the Viewpoint Media Player, browser-based marketing applications, and the Unicast Ad Platform. The integration of these technologies truly provides a unique value proposition for Viewpoint and its customers delivering engaging online advertising faster with more measurable results.
