Nokia Convergence Solutions available for wireline and wireless operators and service providers
At SUPERCOMM 2005 in Chicago this week, Nokia is showcasing products, services, and solutions that underline its commitment to both wireless and wireline carriers that want to maximize the potential of convergent networks.
Operators and service providers can enhance their networks for convergence with Nokia in order to give consumers personalized services and mobility across wireline and wireless networks, as well as enhanced coverage and quality. Such service convergence will bring new cost savings and revenue-generating opportunities for operators and service providers.
Nokia is involved in a number of trials of convergence solutions with leading operators. Among those already announced are France Telecom, Telecom Italia, TeliaSonera, and most recently Finnish operator Saunalahti. Several other trials are ongoing, including multiaccess trials with Nokia equipment compliant with Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) standards.
In live demonstrations and presentations at SUPERCOMM, Nokia is highlighting its portfolio of solutions for a unified core network, many of which are commercially available today.
“We have recognized together with operators the solutions that are needed for converging networks,” said Jussi Ilmarinen, Director, Convergence Marketing & Sales, Networks, Nokia. “As we are showing at SUPERCOMM, Nokia has a powerful end-to-end convergence offering, including devices with rich media capabilities, open, standardized platforms and service machinery, many of which are in use today.”
