In a move to further strengthen its presence in the Japanese market, Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), the world’s leading hard drive company, today announced the appointment of Chemic Corporation as an authorized distributor for Seagate’s disc drive products.

Seagate’s distribution strategy includes working closely with partners like Chemic to provide the industry’s broadest set of storage solutions to a wider set of customers in more market segments in Japan. The agreement with Chemic strengthens Seagate’s customer base in Japan, leveraging Seagate’s technology leadership, innovation and unmatched operational excellence in order to deliver compelling industry-leading solutions to OEMs and their customers. Chemic will be distributing Seagate’s full range of disc drives for Enterprise, Personal Storage and Consumer Electronics applications and branded solutions products.
