Adobe Voluntarily Provides DOJ Additional Time for Acquisition Review
Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) today announced it has voluntarily withdrawn and refiled its pre-merger notification and report form under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended, relating to its pending acquisition of Macromedia, Inc. (Nasdaq: MACR). The refiling is a procedural step to provide the staff at the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice with additional time to review the information submitted by Adobe and Macromedia. Adobe still anticipates that the transaction will close in the Fall 2005 timeframe.
