Dell Unveils Plan to Nearly Double Size of Ottawa Facility

Second Building Scheduled to Open in September 2007

Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) will nearly double the size of its Ottawa Customer Contact Centre over the next few years with the construction of a three-story, 148,222 square-foot facility slated for completion in September 2007, the company announced today. The company will begin hiring the additional technical professionals – who are responsible for technical and customer support in the United States and Canada.

The Dell Ottawa Customer Contact center, which currently employs about 1,200 people in its 156,000-square-foot customer contact centre at 2500 Solandt Road in the west end of Ottawa, was established in February 2006 and provides a broad range of technical and customer support in the United States and Canada.

The announcement coincides with a visit to Ottawa by company Chairman Michael Dell, who met with employees and Algonquin College students and administrators. At the college, Mr. Dell spoke in an open forum with students. He also discussed forging relationships with the administration that could complement Dell’s in-house training and help ensure graduates are competitive for future Dell jobs.

“The remarkable growth of this customer contact centre is made possible by the depth of talent we found in the Ottawa workforce,” Mr. Dell said. “Our continued success depends on our ability to provide exceptional support to all our customers, and the men and women of the Ottawa centre meet that challenge every day.”
