D-LINK Wins Innovation Awards From Consumer Electronics Association

In New York today, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) acknowledged D-Link as an International CES Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Award Honoree for two of its recently announced products – the D-Link V-CLICK dual-mode GSM / Wi-Fi phone and the D-Link DNS-323, a 2-Bay Network Storage Enclosure. By winning CEA’s prestigious award honors, the D-Link products will be displayed at the upcoming 2007 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Both products will be showcased in a special display throughout the week of Jan. 8 in Las Vegas, in Booth #68747 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, and in D-Link’s booth (#31434) in the Upper South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

A panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and trade press editors judged the CEA Innovation Award entries based on the following criteria: engineering and design qualities, uniqueness, user value, contributions to consumers’ quality of life and the impact on the manufacturer’s business. “The CEA and International CES are prestigious industry organizations and important influencer in the consumer electronics marketplace globally, so we are proud to be recognized for our technology innovation and excellence by the industry experts who participated as judges for these awards,” said Steven Joe, D-Link North American president and CEO. “Both the new D-Link dual-mode phone and our consumer storage enclosure are cutting-edge, next generation technologies that will help drive seamless access to voice, data, and video for consumers and business.”

The palm-sized, lightweight D-Link V-CLICK dual-mode phone was honored in the Wireless Communications category as an advanced and easy-to-use communication solution that allows users to switch between tri-band (900/1800/1900 Mhz) GSM cellular and 802.11 Wi-Fi™ (2.4Ghz) networks. The D-Link V-CLICK enables consumers and business employees to use existing SIM Smartcards or chips to automatically gain GSM access while maintaining key data, such as phone numbers and address books. With a simple press of the V-CLICK button, users can instantly switch to a Wi-Fi connection for access to websites or an Internet phone service, and enjoy the convenience of reduced communication costs, faster transfer speeds and increased productivity.
