Logicalis Underpins Growth With Senior Management Appointments

Howard-Johnson and Kearns join from Getronics and BT Global Services

Logicalis Group, an international provider of integrated information and communications technology (ICT) solutions, has announced the appointment of Eamonn Kearns as senior VP Solutions and Services for Logicalis, and Simon Howard-Johnson as VP Service Sales for Intact Integrated Services (IIS), Logicalis Group’s independent services organisation.

Kearns joins Logicalis from BT Global Services where he was BT General Manager responsible for Unilever – a 10 year, £1bn global outsource engagement. Prior to BT, he served as European Managing Director for the publicly quoted network integration firm, Predictive Systems. At Predictive, Kearns ran their UK, German and Netherlands operations, and was involved in Predictive’s successful sale to INS. He will report to Logicalis UK managing director, Tom Kelly.

Earlier in his career, Kearns worked for IBM UK for 12 years. There he led the sales team working on the BT account. During his employment by IBM he also ran the product division responsible for the enterprise storage and systems products, and played a leading role in the transformation of IBM UK into a services-led company. Following IBM, Kearns worked as Global Sales Director at Crossfield Electronics before going on to head the European Telecommunications business at AMS – a leading systems integration and consulting firm.

Howard-Johnson joins IIS from the Dutch ICT solutions and services company, Getronics, where he was Global Client Director for BT. In his time at Getronics, he was responsible for several international services driven projects spanning over 80 countries. He will report to IIS managing director Bob Dalton.

After an initial career in the Royal Navy, Howard-Johnson worked for SEMA Group and then Compaq/HP, in their managed services division. “We’ve just delivered another half year of record-breaking results and the Logicalis Group is now heading towards becoming a $1 billion revenue organisation,” says Ian Cook, Logicalis’ CEO, European Operations. “We already employ over 1000 people, but being able to attract employees of Howard-Johnson and Kearn’s calibre and experience will ensure that we deliver on our ambition.”

“In particular, Howard-Johnson and Kearns will be key figures in articulating the services that make up our end-to end value proposition – helping organisations migrate toward practices that will improve their agility, continuity and corporate and social responsibility,” emphasises Cook. “To do this at board level requires the experience to really understand our customers’ business drivers, and define and develop solutions to help them implement innovative, more flexible ways of working. This will allow our customers to exploit new business opportunities, increase revenues and cut both costs and time from business processes.”

Latest in a series of appointments
The appointments come soon after the naming, in November 2006, of Ian Cook as Logicalis’ new CEO, effective 1st March 2007. Cook will have day to day responsibility for the operations and management of the Logicalis Group in North and South America, as well as in Europe.

In September 2006, Logicalis announced a restructuring of its UK business. It merged the company’s existing UK networking (LNS) and computing (LCS) divisions into a single entity.

As part of the restructuring, Tom Kelly, previously the managing director of LNS, was appointed managing director for the combined UK operation. He has responsibility for the strategy, sales, marketing, business development and systems engineering.
