Calcomp Launches Next Generation School Pad For Interactive Classrooms

New Delhi June 20, 2005 U.S based GTCO CalComp todayl aunched its next generation InterWrite SchoolPad, a Bluetooth wireless device that allows users to interact with their computer from anywhere in the class room and create a truly engaging lesson for first time in India.

The InterWrite SchoolPad is a globally accepted new generation effective interactive teaching and learning system The wireless Pads can either be used in conjunction with a projected computer image on any surface to create an interactive whiteboard. In addition, up to seven Pads can be connected to the same computer for even greater audience and class participation.

The small wireless device helps the teachers to engage their students from anywhere in the class room. The school pad helps the teacher to teach lessons on any surface and use the school pad to write notes. As it is linked with computers it can help in teaching any subject. It also helps the school principal/headmaster to monitor different class rooms at one time.

It has been designed to suit Indian rural and remote areas and beome part of government’s ‘Serve Shiksha Abhiyan’ as it makes learning easy through graphs, pictures etc. It can also be used for family planning, social and adult education in villages after the school timings.

In India the company has launched its latest teaching and learning products through Globus Infocom Limited (GIL). The pad helps to store all that has been tught in the class, which can be accessed by the students through print or file. Other tham schools the pad has been targeted at higher educational institutes, engineering and medical colleges, IIT’s, Defense M establishments, conference rooms and hotels and corporate offices.

According to Mr Alex Danial, Marketing Head, GIL the school pad is compatible for Windows and Mac operating environments, allows users to annotate over any computer application to allow users to leverage their existing presentations or lessons.
