Panasonic launches revolutionary multifunction devices, audio conferencing system & a new range of cordless phones

Delhi, November 17, 2006: Panasonic Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. (India Branch Office), today announced the launch and availability of new products in India including all-in-one multifunction devices, audio conferencing system and a complete new range of feature rich-cordless phones.

According to Mr. Anil Rijhwani, Country Head, Panasonic Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. (India Branch Office), “Panasonic symbolizes technological innovation and immense product diversity for we have machines that find utility from the reception to the boardroom. The new all-in-one multifunction devices are sure to change the way people work, bringing them unparalleled cost and efficiency benefits.”

Mr. Chander Kohli, Chief Operating Officer, Panasonic Asia Pacific Pte Ltd., (India Branch Office) said, “Panasonic cordless phones enjoy the leadership position in the market for we strive to exceed customer expectations. The new range of feature-rich cordless phones and the conference speakerphone (audio conferencing system) further strengthen our product portfolio.”

Two of the new multifunction devices launched include the KX-FLB852CX and the KX-FLB802CX incorporating all functions— scan, copy, fax and print—in one compact unit. The most unique feature of Panasonic KX-FLB852CX is the 3-bin sorter, not available in other MFD brands. This device is highly useful for small offices like export houses, travel agents, insurance agents etc., who do not want to own four different machines (printer, copiers, scanner and fax) due to prohibitive costs.

Another vertical for which the KX-FLB852CX makes immense business sense is the software industry wherein collaborative or team computing is the order of the day and the costs are debited to the customer. Expensive individual machines spiral the costs and therefore are not a feasible option. The KX-FLB852 and KX-FLB802 fit the bill and maximize performance. It features colour scanning (600 x 600 dpi resolution) with flatbed and automatic document feeder (50 sheets) and comes with high laser printing speed of 18 pages per minute (ppm), up to 18 cpm of copy speed and a built-in 33.6 kbps fax modem.

This multifunction device from Panasonic works with Microsoft® Windows® 98/Me/2000/XP, has a multifunction tray and offers Error Correction Mode (ECM) besides enhanced 600 dpi laser copy quality. A paper tray for 500 sheets and network interface (LAN board) can be attached to the unit as an option. While the second model, the Panasonic KX-FLB802CX, has an automatic document feeder capacity of 40 sheets and comes with Junk Fax Prohibitor feature. Priced at Rs 20,999 and Rs 15,999 respectively, both these multifunction devices from Panasonic are aimed at business enterprises with high to moderate document management requirements.

The newly launched Panasonic KX-TS730 is a full digital duplex conference speakerphone for audio conferencing. It has a built-in digital answering system and 120 minutes of voice recording—the only conference speakerphone in the world to sport this unique feature. No other audio conferencing system has this facility as it allows users to concentrate on the conversation, rather than writing endless pages of notes. In addition, it also provides a 3.5 mm audio jack to output recordings to cassettes, CDs or computer as a wave or MP3 file. Digital circuitry helps reduce echo and dropouts, commonly found in microphones, enabling clearer 2-way conversations. What’s more, the KX-TS730 has a line status indicator and a call status indicator LED too. Its ultra sensitive microphone unit consists of 4 sets of paired microphones, totaling eight in number, which collect sound in 360º (featuring automatic microphone selection). It is designed to receive audio in a radius of up to 380 square feet in room conditions, such that users can speak from as far as 10 feet and still be heard clearly. Combined with Panasonic’s neodymium speakers and active sound processing technology, the KX-TS730 delivers hi-fi sound quality for crisp and natural conversations. It plays back messages, the recordings can be rewind, forwarded, repeated, skipped, muted and paused at will. Some of the other notable features include call waiting caller ID, 50-station caller ID memory and dialer, 100-station phone book directory and dialer, 10 number history redial with auto dialer, flash button providing dial tone for a new call and access to phone & PBX features and an amber illuminated LCD display with 6-level contrast adjustment. The KX-TS730 audio conferencing system is priced at Rs 32,000.

Panasonic, the market leader in cordless phones, strengthened its portfolio with the introduction of a complete new product range in exciting colours like silver and blue. The 2.4 GHz range has 8 new models priced between Rs 2,300 and Rs 8,500. They come with 50-station caller ID memory, up to 100-name and number phonebook, voice-enhancement technology, digital duplex speakerphone, digital answering system, 3-way conference call, talking caller ID, dial-lock, 2-line operation, up to 6 handsets expandability, caller assignment, caller rejection, voice select etc. The KX-TG2873BX model is a corded as well as the cordless phone rolled into one while the KX-TG2448BX model is rugged in its design and manufacturing (shock and spill resistant) making it an ideal selection for gym and pool environments.
