Audience To Be Spellbound At Seagate Young Innovators

Over 600 talented primary and secondary schoolchildren will descend on the Odyssey Arena on Thursday 23rd June for Seagate Young Innovators – the largest annual showcase of science, engineering and technology projects for young people in the United Kingdom.

The event is a partnership between Seagate Technology, the worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of hard disc drives, and Sentinus, one of the largest providers of business education activity in Europe.

Now in its seventh year, the admission-free event commences at 10:00 a.m. with fifty primary school teams participating in live design-and-build challenges as part of the Junior Engineers for Britain and Primary Science and Technology Challenges. There will also be more than 150 projects on display from primary and secondary school pupils competing for the titles in the various sections of Junior Industry Challenge, Special Schools Challenge, Northern Ireland Young Scientist, and Young Engineers for Britain competitions.

TV personality Frank Mitchell will be Master of Ceremonies at the 3:00 p.m. Awards Ceremony, when participants will be eager to see if they have won one of the array of prizes on offer-some of which involve trips to national and international science fairs.
