Symantec Addresses Emerging Threats and IT Risks with Support for Windows Vista

Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced the availability of industry-leading security, backup, and availability solutions for Windows Vista that will help protect businesses from the emerging threats and IT risks. Combined with a more secure Windows platform, Symantec’s solutions enable companies to deploy Windows Vista with the complete confidence that their systems and information will be protected and available, no matter what.

“Businesses deploying Windows Vista are offered new opportunities but are also faced with potential security, availability, performance, and compliance risks,” said Jeremy Burton, group president, Enterprise Security and Data Management, Symantec. “Symantec uniquely provides businesses of all sizes best-of-breed, Windows Vista-compatible software that helps mitigate IT risk.”

Since Windows Vista does not include virus protection, enterprises should deploy an antivirus solution alongside Windows Vista for real-time protection from viruses and spyware. Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.2 provides automatic defense and response against viruses and spyware/adware for the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system and has been redesigned to make specific use of the new architecture that’s available in Window Vista. Symantec AntiVirus provides comprehensive malware protection for every network tier in an integrated, easy-to-deploy solution.
