IBM Remains Worldwide Leader in Enterprise Management, Based on 2004 License Revenue

IBM today announced that analyst firm Gartner Inc. has again ranked IBM as the worldwide market share leader in the enterprise management market segment based on license revenue for 2004. This marks the fourth year that IBM remains number one in enterprise management, gaining worldwide license revenue year-to-year.

Gartner ranked IBM as the top vendor overall, and also ranked IBM as the leader across enterprise management market categories including Availability & Performance Management, Configuration Management, Database Management, Job Scheduling, and Network Management, and a general category that includes IBM Print Management offerings.

The report also stated that worldwide license revenue for the enterprise management software market grew 11.4 percent to $6.2 billion in 2004.

“Enterprise systems management, and IBM Tivoli’s move towards IT service management, are essential areas for on demand business,” said Al Zollar, general manager, IBM Tivoli software. “We consider Tivoli’s continued ranking as the number one enterprise management vendor by Gartner as a testament to our continued focus on technology innovation and dedication to customers’ needs for end-to-end enterprise management solutions and services.”
