HP Launches Technology Grant Opportunity for K-12 Schools in United States and Puerto Rico

HP today launched an initiative that will award grants totaling $3.9 million in cash and HP equipment to kindergarten-12th grade public schools in the United States and Puerto Rico. The 2007 K-12 HP Technology for Teaching Grant initiative supports efforts to improve student achievement through the innovative uses of technology in the classroom.

Proposals will be accepted from all subject areas, but preference will be given to projects with a focus on math or science. Based on the outcomes of the projects funded through this initiative in 2007, HP may offer grant recipients the opportunity to receive higher value grants in 2008. Schools interested in applying for this grant can find additional information, requests for proposal forms and application submission deadlines at www.hp.com/go/hpteach.

The grants bring HP’s total investment in education in the United States and Puerto Rico in 2007 to $10 million. HP’s worldwide commitment to schools through the HP Technology for Teaching Grant initiative totals more than $36 million since the program’s launch in 2004.
