Asus WL-160W Opens Up Unparalleled Speed and Range of 802.11n Wireless Connectivity
ASUSTeK Computers Inc. (ASUS), a leading provider of high-performance wireless solutions, today introduced yet another product in its 802.11n draft family to fully harness this exciting new wireless protocol that offers much improved speed and range over conventional 802.11b/g. The WL-160W wireless USB 2.0 adaptor is a user-friendly plug-and-play 802.11n solution for notebooks and desktops alike, when used in conjunction with 802.11n draft compliant devices like the recently introduced WL-500W Super Speed N wireless router.
Faster Without Wires: Compared to a cabled setup, wireless networking used to be a trade-off between connection speed and convenience. Not anymore – With Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) technology, wireless networking with 802.11n draft protocol can achieve connection speeds in excess of 100Mbps, faster than cabled Ethernet.
With the greatly enhanced connection speed of 802.11n, the WL-160W offers a realistic solution for wireless streaming of multimedia content like movies and music throughout the entire home. Moreover, the WL-160W is fully compatible with legacy 802.11b/g devices.
