Once a Nintendo fan, always a Nintendo fan. The person who designed the winning poster in Nintendo’s Change Your World design contest for Game Boy® Advance SP turned out to be a 24-year-old graphic designer and lifelong Nintendo fan who has owned every Nintendo system ever made.
Tony Solary of Cleveland will have his winning entry published in the October issue of the newly redesigned Nintendo Power® magazine, which hits stands on Aug. 20. Solary also wins a Game Boy Advance SP and a video game. Solary’s winning poster design features the silhouette of a raccoon-suited game player surrounded by a familiar array of images from Super Mario Bros. 3â„¢: gold coins, blocks and a sleeping Chain Chomp. Nintendo fans will recognize the player’s outfit as the powered-up Tanooki suit occasionally donned by Marioâ„¢.
The Change Your World contest was based on the successful series of television and print Game Boy Advance SP ads that highlight the ability of the best-selling hand-held video game systems to transform players’ environments by immersing them into fun games and rich storylines.
