YELLOWPAGES.COM Launches New PC-to-Mobile Functionality
Calling a cab after popping the cork is now as simple as a 10-second countdown. Just in time for New Year’s Eve, party-goers can look up the number to taxi services on YELLOWPAGES.COM (www.yellowpages.com) and text message the listing to their cell phones for easy reference following the champagne toast (or toasts). YELLOWPAGES.COM, a joint venture of AT&T and BellSouth, today announced the launch of a new “Send to Mobile” site feature that allows consumers to send search results directly to their mobile handsets for future use.
Additionally, they can access www.yellowpages.com directly from their mobile phone web browser and search a mobile-optimized version of the YELLOWPAGES.COM site for taxis or any other local business services they need during the holiday season. Research shows that the December celebratory season is the year’s busiest for looking up the number to taxi cabs. More searches to YELLOWPAGES.COM for taxi companies and cabs were made in December 2005 than in any other month of that year.
“Our aim is to deliver our robust database of local businesses in the ways that consumers want to access them when they need something, while bringing our advertisers increasingly meaningful and relevant opportunities to reach consumers,” said Charles Stubbs, president and CEO of YELLOWPAGES.COM. “This new Send to Mobile feature and our mobile search application deliver on that commitment.”
