Macromedia Wins Mobile Project Award At Wireless Japan 2005

Macromedia, Inc. (Nasdaq: MACR) today announced that Macromedia Flash Lite won first prize in the Mobile Solutions category at the Mobile Project Awards 2005 at Wireless Japan. The Mobile Solutions category recognizes solutions that provide middleware (i.e. browsers, content development tools, distribution tools) and mobile marketing environments for the ever-expanding mobile business sector.

Since 2002, the Mobile Project Awards have contributed to furthering development of the mobile industry by honoring outstanding project teams or individuals engaged in the mobile industry. Projects eligible for the awards included products or services that were successfully commercialized by May 2005. A committee comprised of reporters and editors from mobile-related media selected the Mobile Project Awards winners.

Flash Lite is a profile of Macromedia Flash Player designed specifically for mobile phones that is being rapidly adopted on electronic devices in Japan and elsewhere. Flash Lite was selected as the most outstanding project in the mobile solutions category due to its proven capacity to serve as an engine for the display of rich design experiences.
