Audiovox Corporation’s Patrick Lavelle Named Chairman of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Board of Industry Leaders

Audiovox Corporation (Nasdaq: VOXX), today announced that Patrick Lavelle, the Company’s president and chief executive officer has been named chairman of the Consumer Electronics Association.

Mr. Lavelle succeeds Lloyd Ivey, founder and CEO of Mitek Corp., who will continue to serve the board as Immediate Past Chair. “It is an honor to be recognized as an industry leader by my peers and I look forward to serving CEA as chair and will work with my counterparts to implement best practices throughout all facets of the consumer electronics industry.”

The Executive Board determines CEA policies and manages the association’s affairs. The Board of Industry leaders represents the 2,100 member companies and determines CEA strategic goals to assist the industry and members. Mr. Lavelle was elected to this position in October 2006 and has taken office as chairman effective January 1, 2007. His position as chair will run for a period of one-year.

In addition to Lavelle, other new Executive Board members include Noel Lee, “head monster” Monster Cable; Phillip Schoonover, president and CEO, Circuit City; Blair Westlake, corporate vice president of the Media, Content & Partner Strategy Group, Microsoft; and DJ Oh, president and CEO, Samsung Electronics. Returning members include John Shalam, chairman of Audiovox Corporation; Kathy Gornik, president, Thiel Audio; Jay McLellan, president and CEO, Home Automation, Inc.; Gary Yacoubian, president and COO, MyerEmco Audio Video; and Grant Russell, president, Green Clean USA.

Lavelle continued, “Becoming chairman as CEA is celebrating its 40th anniversary is especially significant as our industry is at a crossroad in the technology revolution as digital convergence has evolved from a dream to reality. All technologies, whether hardware, software or services to devices, networks or accessories, have become commonplace in today’s global economy, and marrying these technologies, adopting new standards and continuing to foster innovation and collaboration will be the critical enablers of building for the future. Patrick M. Lavelle was elected president and CEO of Audiovox Corporation in May 2005 and has served on the Company’s Board of Directors since 1993. Mr. Lavelle is also president and CEO of Audiovox’s subsidiaries, Audiovox Electronics Corp. and Code Systems, Inc. In addition to his role as chair of CEA’s Board of Industry Leaders, he also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Marist College, Poughkeepsie, New York.
