S3 Graphics Partners with InterVideo on HD-DVD™ and Blu-Ray Disc™ Content Playback during CES 2007
S3 Graphics today announced the demonstration of HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Disc titles on its Chrome S27 graphics cards at the Lunch@Piero’s press event in Las Vegas during CES 2007, using WinDVD 8 playback software from InterVideo, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Corel Corporation (NASDAQ:CREL; TSX:CRE).
“S3 Graphics has pioneered support for advanced video features such as WMV-HD and ATSC HD output formats through its Chrome S20 Series GPUs, as well as providing multiple digital and analog Hi-Def interconnects to work with the burgeoning number of high-definition displays available in the consumer electronics market,” said Dr. Gerry Liu, VP Marketing for S3 Graphics. “So we are very pleased to be working with InterVideo in rolling out support in 2007 for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Disc content on standard industry platforms.”
“We are excited to show the new HD version of WinDVD 8 deployed on S3 Graphics Chrome GPUs at CES,” said Blaine Mathieu, General Manager of Corel’s Digital Media business, “and are looking forward to working with S3 Graphics to provide robust support for Blu-Ray Disc and HD-DVD content for our mutual customers worldwide.”
