Symantec Executives to Participate in Panel Discussions

Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that John W. Thompson, Symantec’s chairman and chief executive officer, will keynote at the RSA® Conference 2005 on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 10:35 a.m. PT. Other Symantec speakers include Charles Breed, senior director of Mergers and Acquisitions; Peter Szor, chief researcher; Kimberly Legelis, director of Industry Solutions; Lawrence Dietz, director of Solutions and Strategy; Chris Wysopal, director of Development; and Matt Conover, senior software engineer. The RSA Conference 2005 is being held Feb. 14-18 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

In his keynote, Thompson will discuss the future of security and how the industry will need to evolve to continue to serve customers. A live webcast of the speech will be available on Symantec’s Web site at http://www.symantec.com/invest. To listen to the live event, please go to the Web site at least 15 minutes early to register, download, and install any necessary audio software. For those who cannot listen to the live broadcast, a replay will be available on the site shortly after the call.

Breed will participate in two panel discussions at the conference. At 2 p.m. PT on Tuesday, Feb. 15, he will speak on the panel “Security Industry and Technology Consolidation,” part of the Professional Development educational track, to explore possible outcomes for the security industry as it evolves to the point of mainstream acceptance. At 2 p.m. PT on Thursday, Feb. 17, Breed will participate on the panel “The Future of the Security Market: Innovation vs. Integration,” part of the Business of Security educational track, to discuss the information security market’s medium and long-term future and how this will affect security managers and investors.
