Xerox Announces Price-Breaking High-Speed Production and Departmental Scanners
Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today announced the DocuMate™ 752, a new high-speed production scanner rated at 50 pages per minute and 100 images per minute in portrait mode with a suggested price of $4,995, making the DocuMate 752 the only duplex A3 flatbed production scanner available today for under $5,000.
The Xerox DocuMate 752 and the DocuMate 752 with VRS Professional will be unveiled at Visioneer’s PartnerVision 2007 Conference, held this week in St. Petersburg. Kofax VRS (Virtual ReScan®:) technology enables the scanner to capture challenging documents – such as those printed on security paper, recycled paper, wrinkled paper or thermal paper – and delivers perfect scans automatically.
The Xerox DocuMate 752 is equipped with an A3-sized flatbed that can accommodate documents up to 11″ x 17″ on the glass or through the automatic document feeder. The ScanSoft® OmniPage Pro software bundle enables people to automatically scan to searchable PDF, making it easy to scan batches of mixed-sized documents. Searchable PDF maintains the visual integrity of the original document, with the text portions of the image converted via OCR for search purposes and stored in a separate layer. This makes it cost-efficient to convert paper documents to PDF, while simplifying how people distribute documents and search, link, select/copy and index the text.
For small- to mid-sized companies and larger corporate departments, the DocuMate 752 production scanner is an effective way to index a large volume of documents such as medical forms or real estate documents and import them to a content management solution or archive to a storage system.
