Consumer Benefits from AT&T-BellSouth Merger Continue with 3G Wireless Phone Offers
AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced a new offer intended to heat up demand for 3G wireless broadband service and further demonstrate the benefits of bundling AT&T wireline and wireless services together. Customers will receive up to $200 in mail-in rebates when they purchase select 3G wireless handsets at one of the company’s wireless stores, sign up for wireless service from AT&T and select either AT&T Yahoo!® High Speed Internet Pro or Elite service, or FastAccess® Ultra or Xtreme 6.0 DSL service (AT&T DSL).
The AT&T 3G network offers advanced wireless services, such as viewing video clips of news, weather, sports, entertainment and more, listening to music, allows for simultaneous use of voice and data, and enhances existing wireless services by enabling them to run faster. Customers can now download a game or ringtone, browse the Internet or connect to business applications in a fraction of the time it used to take.
The AT&T 3G mobile broadband network extends to most areas from San Francisco to New York and from Chicago to Dallas, making advanced wireless services available in more than 160 markets, including most of the top 100 major cities in the country. “We’re following through on our commitment to deliver new values and benefits to customers from our merger with BellSouth Corp. and consolidating ownership of Cingular Wireless,” said Rick Welday, chief marketing officer-AT&T Consumer. “Our compelling new offer makes it even easier for customers to enjoy virtually anytime, anywhere access to communications and entertainment services.”
