Arizona-based High-tech Startup GoWare Launches Today at Prestigious DEMO Conference
Arizona-based start-up GoWare has been selected as one of a few companies, out of hundreds that applied, to officially launch at this week’s prestigious DEMO 07 conference being held in Palm Desert, California.”Arizona is a fantastic place to put a high-tech startup,” says Jason Thibeault, co-founder and CTO.
“Not only are tech labor rates more cost-effective than in many other parts of the U.S., but an established technology community and a growing work force fed by ASU and tech savvy laborers fleeing California in search of a slower pace of life, provides a very rich source of talent to build out software and hardware products.”
In its Gilbert offices, GoWare is solving the mobile internet communications puzzle. Recently a number of companies have attempted to solve this puzzle, including Apple with its iPhone announcement, but so far only one company has been successful — GoWare with its first product offering DoMo. DoMo (Do More With Your Mobile), available in public beta this week, makes the mobile phone a practical internet device and puts users in control of their mobile content experience.
GoWare’s new mobile portal technology makes it possible for users to access web content, an office or home PC, and application data, quickly and easily from their mobile phone through their own, customized mobile portal.According to research by Telephia almost 25% of the mobile population today want to use their mobile browser.
Unfortunately, the experience of accessing content via mobile phone is hampered by Web site responsiveness, content sites or devices not tailored to a mobile browser display, and the mobile phone itself (i.e., entering URLs through the keypad).
DoMo has solved these issues by putting users in control of their mobile content experience.Conveniently Access a Mashup of Web and PC-based ContentDoMo takes the frustration out of using the mobile phone for Web and PC access by letting mobile phone users create personalized mobile portals for convenient delivery of all their content through a single page on their mobile browsers. Using any browser, DoMo makes it possible for users to access a mashup of Web content (news, blogs, podcasts), PC files (documents, photos, music), and application data (email from Outlook, financial data from QuickBooks), quickly and easily from their mobile phone.Create Personalized Mobile PortalDoMo’s easy-to-use PC-based application lets the user build, manage, and share a mobile portal.
The user can quickly add content from their hard drive, the Web, and from proprietary or secure services (the latter through DoMo’s plug-in system). Users create the categories, choose the content, then simply select the make and model of their phone and a corresponding template, and DoMo automatically generates their portal.”
We have taken the frustration out of using the mobile phone to access content. Rather than requiring an application on the mobile phone, our users need only visit a single website from their mobile browser to access all of their content-user-generated, Web, PC, and applications,” said Jason Thibeault, co-founder and CTO of GoWare. “We have made a mobile Web browsing system that focuses on a superior customer experience.”
