VIA-Sponsored ‘girlz 0f destruction’ Vie for Inaugural Ms. QuakeCon Gaming Title in US

New Delhi August 10, 2005, – VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions, today announced the sponsorship of ‘girlz 0f destruction’, a leading female PC gaming team, at this year’s QuakeCon being held in Grapevine, Texas, from 11th to 14th August 2005.

The girlz 0f destruction (www.girlzdestruct.com) team members will compete in the first official Ms. QuakeCon competition, playing as individuals in a QUAKE III Arena deathmatch tournament for a top prize of US$30,000. They will also join VIA in a “Live at QuakeCon” web conference for media on 12th August, the second day of the event (details below).

girlz 0f destruction is a 10-member, international all-girls PC gaming team hailing from six different countries and will be sending four representatives to participate in this year’s inaugural Ms. QuakeCon tournament. Representing Sweden, Canada and the USA, the girlz 0f destruction members will be participating as individuals in a deathmatch-style Quake III tournament. All team members attending the event are professional gamers and have played over 10,000 matches between them and each trains on average for five hours a day.
