Sony Ericsson Recognized For Outstanding Performance And Achievement By M2m Magazine And The 2005 Telematics Update Awards
Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, a leading provider of wireless machine-to-machine technology, was honored as a technology enabler of fleet management applications at the M2M United Value Chain Awards held June 28th in Chicago. The Value Chain Award was presented to Schneider National, Inc., a premier provider of transportation services for its deployment of a trailer tracking solution developed by Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions integrating a Sony Ericsson CM42 CDMA Rugged Module as enabling technology. The combined solution won a Silver Value Chain Award, which honors the most successful adopters and their enablers for proven machine-to-machine solutions demonstrating true business value.
Chosen by a group of analysts and editors from Harbor Research, Gartner, Aberdeen and ARC Advisory Group and M2M Magazine, the leading publication covering machine-to-machine communications, the awards highlight the effective integration of multiple technologies such as device-connectivity hardware, radio modules, network service and provision, as well as application software and infrastructure.
The application deployed by Schneider National, Inc utilizes the CM42 CDMA Rugged Module. The CM42 is the first and only automotive grade cellular product. The CM42, and the soon to be released CM52 are low cost, CDMA telematics and telemetry modules that support the pervasive growth of automotive and industrial applications like driver navigation, security, cargo tracking, mobility services, infotainment and meter reading.
