Tickets on Sale February 1 for Blockbuster Exhibition ‘Modernism: Designing a New World 1914-1939′ at Corcoran Gallery of Art

Tickets go on sale Thursday, Feb. 1 for this spring’s ground-breaking exhibition, “Modernism: Designing a New World 1914-1939,” on view at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. from March 17 through July 29, 2007.

“Modernism” is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition on the subject ever staged in the United States, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art will be the only American venue. Presenting nearly 400 objects and 50 film clips, the exhibition explores the foundation and meaning of Modernism, and it contains some of the most seminal works of modern art, graphic and product design, and architecture produced in the first half of the 20th century.

Beginning Feb. 1, tickets will be available online at http://www.corcoran.org or through Ticketmaster at (866) 448-7849. Cost is $14 adults, $12 senior/military and $10 students. Corcoran members and children under six years old are free. “Modernism” hours of admission are as follows: Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed Tuesday.
