SiRF Selected for Ocean Tomo 300 Patent Index

Index First to Track Stock Performance for Companies with Valuable Intellectual Property Assets

SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIRF) , a leading provider of GPS-enabled location technology, announced today that it has been chosen for the new Ocean Tomo 300 Patent Index, reflecting the significant value of the Company’s intellectual property. The Index, billed as the “first major, broad-based equity index to be launched in 35 years,” is priced and published by the American Stock Exchange and became effective on November 1, 2006.

“SiRF is gratified to have been selected as a constituent company in the Ocean Tomo 300 Patent Index,” said Dr. Michael Canning, SiRF’s president and chief executive officer. “Although the company has only been in business since 1995 and public for less than three years, I am pleased to see that the value of the Company’s patent portfolio is being recognized along with many older and larger publicly traded technology leaders.”

The Index represents a portfolio of 300 companies “that own the most valuable patents relative to their book value,” according to a joint press release from Ocean Tomo and the American Stock Exchange. In addition to SiRF, the Index includes companies such as Apple, IBM, Motorola and Intel.

“Being the first to develop and patent innovative technology that brings GPS-enabled location-awareness to mass consumer markets is critical to our growth,” said Nicolas S. Gikkas, SiRF’s Chief Intellectual Property Counsel. “We believe inclusion in the Ocean Tomo 300 Patent Index is a testament to the valuable inventions created every day by SiRF engineers and scientists who continue to push the location technology envelope.” SiRF owns more than 190 U.S. and foreign patents focused on location technology.

“We are pleased to have SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. as an inaugural constituent of the Ocean Tomo 300 Patent Index,” said James E. Malackowski, President and CEO of Ocean Tomo, LLC, developers of the Index. “As of January 10, 2007, with a market capitalization of $1.35 billion, SiRF’s intangible value as a percentage of their market capitalization stands at 83%. One of SiRF’s highest rated patents, U.S. Pat. No. 6,393,046, is highlighted on the SiRF company dashboard at http://www.oceantomoindexes.com/. This patent, filed in the electrical field, covers a spread spectrum receiver with multi-bit correlator and has an IPQ(TM) score of 217.7 and an A+ rating.”
