HelloSoft Launches Optimized IMS / VCC Client for TI OMAP850 Smartphone Processor
HelloSoft, Inc. a leading provider of VoIP/IMS/VCC technologies for mobile devices, announced today the launching of its IMS/VCC framework for mobile devices on Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI’s) OMAP850 processor.
HelloSoft’s IMS/VCC client (HelloIMS(TM)) running on the TI OMAP850 processor offers users a seamless hand-over between cellular and Wi-Fi networks using a single device and a single User Interface.
HelloIMS(TM) is a device framework that enables rapid development of new revenue generating applications and services on wire line or wireless devices. Examples of such applications include Voice Call Continuity (VCC), Presence, Instant Messaging, Push-to-talk, Group-List Management and Video Conferencing.
The IMS client is an embedded software framework that provides signaling, media framework and device management functionalities to be used by the application developers. It provides a set of reusable components and an Application Programming Interface (API) for development of IMS applications and services.
“HelloSoft’s IMS/VCC delivers high performance, providing the software sophistication required to enable new mobile applications,” said Markus Tremmel, worldwide manager of TI’s Cellular Systems Ecosystem. “Dual-mode handset and Smartphone manufacturers will be able to take advantage of an optimized and comprehensive IMS/VCC stack and device framework that enables rapid development of new revenue generating applications and services on wireless devices powered by TI’s OMAP850 processor.”
“HelloSoft is pleased to be the first company to have its VCC (Voice Call Continuity) technology showcasing seamless hand-off between Wi-Fi and Cellular environments on TI’s OMAP850,” said Ron Victor, HelloSoft’s General Manager for Marketing and Business Development, VoIP Group. “This solution will now enable handset manufacturers using the TI OMAP platform to build dual-mode handsets with built-in seamless handover capabilities for deployment by operators globally.”
