New IBM Solution Simplifies Data Warehousing
IBM today announced a new business intelligence (BI) solution that combines servers, storage and software in a single fully-integrated package to offer unmatched performance for information management. BI is a process that companies use to help better understand their key business issues by analyzing data they receive as a result of ATM transactions, retail purchases and other similar transactions.
The IBM Data Warehousing Balanced Configuration Unit (BCU) combines IBM eServer pSeries p5-575 servers, TotalStorage DS4500 and DB2 Data Warehouse Edition into a single, scalable offering that can run on UNIX, Linux or AIX.
By turning raw data into useful information, companies can rapidly make informed and proactive decisions about their products or services. By combining the power of IBM systems with information management capabilities of DB2 Data Warehouse Edition, companies are able to react in real time and make changes to their business activities on demand.
