Home Box Office meets BT Vision

BT today announced an agreement with Home Box Office (HBO), the premium television programming division of Time Warner Inc., to provide its programming on BT’s next-generation TV service, BT Vision. The agreement will provide BT Vision viewers with a fantastic range of HBO’s programming, including award-winning series, mini-series, documentaries and comedy specials not shown in the UK before.

BT Vision customers will be able to choose whether they wish to pay for shows individually or as part of a monthly subscription package. The programming line-up will be available from May and will be updated on a weekly basis. Over time the library will build to include, on demand, all episodes of series such as The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

In addition, BT Vision viewers will be able to see mini-series such as Band of Brothers, Angels in America, and From the Earth to the Moon, all winners of the Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for best mini-series; documentaries Autopsy and Taxicab Confessions and comedy specials such as Ellen DeGeneres: The Beginning and Chris Rock: Never Scared.

Dan Marks, CEO BT TV Services, said: “BT Vision is delighted to be working with HBO, one of the great names in TV. HBO delivers exciting entertainment with a record of awards second to none, enabling our customers to enjoy a fantastic range of shows that are known widely for their huge entertainment value.”
