Moderati Introduces Mobile Faker Exclusively for Sprint Customers

Social warriors armed with cell phones have new reason to celebrate with the introduction of Mobile Faker™ by Moderati, a new service available exclusively to Sprint Power Vision and Vision customers. Mobile Faker turns wireless phones into social tools, with tips to conquer any personal interaction. From fake incoming calls designed to ward off bothersome suitors or impress potential soulmates, to witty zingers to dominate any water cooler conversation, Faker has something for every social maneuver.

Mobile Faker was conceived and developed by San Francisco-based Moderati. Using the mod staff’s keen insights into pop culture trends based on five years of delivering world-class personalization products such as Modtones, Moderati created Mobile Faker as the ultimate social crutch.

Mobile Faker Features:
Faux Calls™ –incoming phone calls with voice prompts to allow easy simulated conversations. Because let’s face it: we all fake it at times. In flavors ranging from boyfriend (“now say: how were your karate lessons?”) to French (prompts you to speak like a smooth Frenchwoman or man)
Faux Numbers™ – fake phone numbers that send would-be suitors to a voice mail telling them they’ve been rejected, in partnership with The Rejection Hotline®
Get Hip Quick – conversation starters on pop culture & entertainment topics with a built-in point of view, featuring everything from snarky one-liners to the cool cocktail du jour to “Get Hip to Sports”, with everything a girl or guy needs to fake their way through beer and nachos at the local sports bar
Get a Life – instant wallpaper downloads of InstaMates (fake boyfriends and girlfriends), fake pets and fake vacations
Pick-up and Rejection Lines – contributed and rated by the Faker community
Mobile Wardrobe – a monthly recommended ringtone to gear one’s phone out in style
Faker Dilemmas – not sure whether to dump your loser boyfriend? Got new shoes but considering returning them? Upload a photo & question through the Mobile Faker website, and the Faker community will vote and provide you with the guidance you so desperately need

Standard Sprint airtime, Vision, and text messaging rates will apply to customer’s use of Mobile Faker services.

“Sprint strives to offer its customers the best mobile applications available,” said Scott Stemmermann, Product Manager for Entertainment Marketing at Sprint PCS. “Mobile Faker by Moderati is a very unique service, and we’re pleased to be the first carrier to offer it.”

Mobile Faker content is contributed by Moderati staff, a network of freelance writers across the country, and the Faker subscriber community. The Mobile Faker website, a companion to the mobile application, lets subscribers volunteer to serve as InstaMates, upload dilemmas or contribute pick up or rejection lines. All content is filtered by Moderati and uploaded to the application.

“Most of us at Moderati have been faking it since 2001,” said Cindy Lundin Mesaros, VP Marketing for Moderati. “People keep asking us how we do it, and so we created Mobile Faker as a community service. Not everyone has time to read a zillion blogs, chat up record store clerks and strategize how to rid oneself from unwanted admirers. Luckily, we know people who do.”

Mobile Faker is available for $3.99 a month under the applications menu on select Sprint Power Vision and Vision handsets. For more information, visit www.mobilefaker.com or www.moderati.com.
