Sharp Introduces 5 New Models in the AQUOS R Series
Sharp Corporation is introducing into the Japanese market five new full-spec HD AQUOS LCD TV models in 65V-, 57V-, 52V-, 46V-, and 42V-inch*1 screen sizes. Featuring double-speed Advanced Super View LCD panels that display even fast-moving images smoothly and clearly, the R Series represents new flagship models that are the most beautiful AQUOS ever in terms of picture quality and design.
LCDs are penetrating markets as demand rises among people who want to replace their old flat panel TV with a large HD model and those who want to complement their main LCD TV in the living room with a second LCD TV in the bedroom or other room.
Equipped with the industry’s first*2 full-spec HD panel equipped with a double-sped (120-Hz) drive, the R Series gives unparalleled performance for moving images—performance giving smooth, clear display of even the most high-speed scenes.
These new AQUOS boast a high contrast ratio of 3,000:1 (living room contrast*3 is 1300:1), which gives deep blacks and powerful, realistic images. These features are made possible by the double-speed Advanced Super View LCD panel, which is based on Sharp’s newly developed double-speed full-spec HD LCD technology. The new models are also the industry’s thinnest and lightest*2 (the 52V-inch model is just 8.5cm*4 thick) and sport a luxurious, shiny piano black for the frame. This makes them a stylish addition to the home, either wall mounted or placed against the wall with the flush-to-wall stand.
