McClatchy-Tribune Information Services (MCT) Teams With Voxant in Bid to Reach Non-Traditional Online Media Outlets

MCT News Content Will Be Available to Thousands of Web Publishers and Blogs Through Voxant’s Viral Syndication Network and TheNewsRoom

Voxant, creator of the Viral Syndication Network(TM) for online news and TheNewsRoom (http://www.thenewsroom.com/), announced today that McClatchy-Tribune Information Services (MCT) has joined the network to expand its content distribution to thousands of new Web sites and blogs.

MCT, formerly Knight-Ridder Tribune, joins a roster of leading media organizations, including the Associated Press, Agence France-Press, Reuters and Canadian Broadcasting Corp., that partner with Voxant to boost online distribution. MCT content will be available in TheNewsRoom next week.

MCT content syndicated through TheNewsRoom will include articles, photos and graphic content from 300 newspapers and the following special news services:

“TheNewsRoom and Voxant’s viral syndication technology will help MCT build relationships with a new breed of online content users,” said MCT Editor Jane Scholz. “In this age of citizen Web-publishing, MCT’s articles, photos and graphics will provide value to small Web sites and blogs that are looking for credible, in-depth news content. Moreover, MCT’s newspaper partners will get valuable branding, traffic boosts and revenue-generation through the relationship with Voxant.”

Voxant’s Viral Syndication Network makes it easy for news publishers to distribute fully licensed video, print, audio and still photo content to thousands of Web sites and blogs. The content may be obtained from TheNewsRoom and redistributed through viral mashing(TM), Voxant’s unique process of embedding news content and advertising to an infinite number of sites. Voxant’s advertising-supported network is free to Web publishers and provides a new revenue stream to originating content providers and distributors.

“Our partnership with McClatchy-Tribune Information Services provides members of our Viral Syndication Network with access to content from one of the most respected brands in the news business,” Voxant CEO Jeff Crigler said. “It further enhances the value of TheNewsRoom, where anyone registered with the Viral Syndication Network may obtain free, fully licensed news content for their Web sites or blogs.”
