World’s top female tennis players psyche themselves up for the US Open listening to their favourite songs stored in their Sony Ericsson Walkman phones
As the top female tennis talent warms up for the US Open, Sony Ericsson, as part of its Sony Ericsson WTA Tour sponsorship, reveals which songs will provide the soundtrack to their lives – from training session, to changing room, to court.
On August 12th Sony Ericsson announced the first global search for the world’s favourite music, ‘The Walkman phones 100’, to coincide with the launch of the its new family of Walkman phones. Celebrities and music lovers worldwide have been logging on to www.walkmanphones100.com to register their top three songs and the reasons why these songs make up the soundtrack of their life. And now, the first ladies of tennis have joined the debate naming the songs that make up their personal soundtracks for Sony Ericsson WTA Tour events.
Serena Williams, ranked on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour number 8, is famed for her on court passion and so it is no surprise to learn that she trains, relaxes and psyches herself up prior to a match by listening to energetic American rock band Green Day, currently ranking at number 29 in the The Walkman phones100. Nadia Petrova, ranking 9, prefers funky house music beats and can be found training to DJ Tiesto.
