Motorola Unveils Next Generation AdvancedTCA Communications Server at First Annual Ecosystem Conference
Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced the latest addition to its AdvancedTCA® Communications Server portfolio – the AvantellisTM 3000 series – at the Mountain View Alliance Communications Ecosystem Conference (MVACEC). Comprised of highly integrated and verified hardware, software and middleware components, the Avantellis 3406 communications server offers network equipment providers a new level of high availability and reliability resulting in reduced development costs and accelerated time to market. The common platform supports the deployment of multiple applications, including wireless infrastructure, packetized voice, wireline data, and cable network head-end equipment.
Specifically designed to address the unique carrier-grade requirements of the telecommunications industry, the Avantellis 3406 offers enhanced functionality, including RoHS (5 of 6) compliance, thereby eliminating the need for customers to incur the time, resource and expense associated with creating and/or converting an existing product to meet the international requirement. Motorola’s latest addition to the Avantellis 3000 series product portfolio also offers the ability to improve customer operating efficiencies by consolidating more of their product portfolio onto an open-standard based common platform.
“After listening closely to our customers’ needs, we have delivered a deployment-ready product that immediately enables them to focus on differentiating product development, rather than spending resources on developing and testing their own carrier class platform and proprietary middleware,” said John Fryer, director of technology marketing, Embedded Communications Computing, Motorola. “Today’s announcement marks the introduction of a complete service availability platform for customers to use as a basis for their value added applications.”
