ZyXEL Expands Security Product Line With SSL VPN Appliance
ZyXEL Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking and Internet connectivity and routing products, today announced the latest addition to their ZyWALL security product line – the ZyWALL SSL-10, an integrated firewall and SSL VPN appliance. With a growing number of small business employees working in the field or remotely, SSL-VPN is becoming the new standard used by these businesses to grant access for workers to the corporate network. The ZyWALL SSL-10 offers client-less secure remote access for mobile workers and no VPN clients need to be installed on their computers.
The ZyWALL SSL-10 is an integrated SSL-VPN and Firewall appliance designed for SMBs in need of simple, secure and clientless remote access to the resources on their corporate network. Users have access to shared network resources through a single web page with user rights defined by login ID. The new appliance supports 10 VPN sessions simultaneously out-of-the-box and is upgradeable to support 25 VPN sessions. With stringent security and encryption algorithms, the ZyWALL SSL-10 is also able to enhance or even replace an SMB’s existing Firewall and ensures data privacy.
“The need to allow secure network access to remote employees continues to grow in importance for SMBs and enterprises,” said Munira Brooks, senior vice president of sales, marketing and business development. “With integrated SSL-VPN SecuExtender technology, our customers are able to grant and control access to the corporate network for their employees and save the cost and hassle of adding VPN clients.”
The ZyWALL SSL-10 makes remote access easy. It provides a customizable web portal that users can access through a standard Web browser to easily and securely access e-mail, applications, web servers and any other resource on the corporate network from any location. The web portal can be tailored so users have access to resources depending on their privileges. The high cost of deploying, configuring, updating software, maintenance and support is eliminated because of clientless, secure remote access. In addition, the new appliance supports authentication tokens making it a comprehensive solution for high security facilities and resources.
