Canon’s DR-7580, DR-5010C, and DR-2050C Scanners Named Editor’s Choice by Leading Team of Office Equipment Analysts
Canon U.S.A., Inc. has recently received three Editor’s Choice Awards for the company’s award-winningi DR-Series Scanners in the 2006 Better Buys for Business Scan-to-File Guide. The Canon DR-7580 scanner won the Editor’s Choice Award for High-End Production Model scanners, the DR-5010C received the Editor’s Choice Award for Midrange Production Models, and the DR-2050C received the award for Economy Models. The Better Buys for Business editor’s choice awards are given to those machines that are the best overall buys and best performing products in their categories.
“We are very proud to have our DR-Series Scanners recognized with such an industry achievement,” said Tod Pike, senior vice president, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc., “The DR-7580, DR-5010C and DR-2050C scanners represent a dynamic cross section of the high quality desktop Scan-to-File solutions provided by Canon to our customers.”
“For each guide, our team of office equipment researchers and editors come together to select those models that serve as a benchmark of high quality, exceptional performance and real value. These models are awarded the Better Buys for Business Editor’s Choice Award – now recognized as the most coveted distinction in the office equipment industry,” said Stephen Hannaford, editor in chief, Better Buys for Business “Due to an oversight, the Canon awards did not appear in the initial printing of the guide but do appear in subsequent copies.”
More businesses are looking to reduce their use of paper, and take advantage of the efficiencies offered by high-volume document scanning. In 2006 the Canon Image Filing Systems division recorded an increase in DR-Series Scanners sales of over 35%, compared to 2005. The Canon division also expects to see similar marketshare growth of its high-speed document scanners.
