VIA EPIA Motherboard Powers MacroSystem ‘Enterprise’ Advanced Home Entertainment System
Taipei, Taiwan, September 7, 2005 - VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions, today announced that VIA EPIA Mini-ITX mainboards have been selected by MacroSystem, a renowned developer of high-end video solutions, to power its new ‘Enterprise’ home entertainment system.
Combining the functionality of a digital TV-Receiver, Pay TV box, HDD-based DVD Recorder, DVD and CD player, as well as the family’s music library into one easy-to-use, quiet-running system, the MacroSystem Enterprise is ideal for the discerning consumer’s living room
The MacroSystem Enterprise is targeted at prosumers and demanding home users looking for the highest quality yet stylish home entertainment centre with the richest feature set. Passively cooled and housed in a particularly elegant black, white or blue glass-front chassis, the Enterprise is based on the energy efficient VIA EPIA Mini-ITX mainboard and comes equipped with the highly integrated Philips Nexperia multimedia chip.
Advanced features such as the loss-free recording of up to eight TV channels simultaneously on the hard drive, direct recording of films to DVD, extensive search and sort of music files, powerful pay-TV support, and multiple program guide views are enhanced by leading-edge features such as Dolby Digital® multi-channel audio, language selection and chapter setting, making the Enterprise home entertainment system one of the most exciting personal electronics devices on the market.
