Lorraine Press Wins ‘Best Of Show’ in Printing Innovation with Xerox Imaging Awards
Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) has named Lorraine Press, a Salt Lake City commercial printing operation, as “Best of Show” winner in its Printing Innovation with Xerox Imaging Awards, a multinational competition created to recognize innovation and excellence in digital printing applications. This year’s competition received nearly 250 entries, the largest number in its four-year history. More entries than ever before were submitted from Latin America, including three award winners and four honorable mentions.
An independent panel of experts in the graphic communications industry awarded Lorraine Press the highest combined ratings for its winning piece, the “Marvello Flipbook Invitation.” Printed on a Xerox DocuColorâ„¢ 8000 Digital Press using a Creo color server, QuarkXPress software and Darwin design tools, the innovative direct-mail piece invited potential customers to the printer’s open house. Four different versions were created – each with a colorful magic theme – and each copy was personalized for the intended recipient.
“We’re promoting the benefits of personalization, and promoting ourselves with a customized piece was a great way to spread that message,” said Robert Miller, president, Lorraine Press. “The invitation generated a 50 percent response rate, introducing potential customers to Lorraine Press and our creative partner, Htheory, while helping grow our relationship with existing clients.”
