Judges award Alcatel-Lucent NetEvents’ “Carrier Product of the Year”
Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) has received the NetEvents 2007 ”Carrier Product of the Year” award as part of the NetEvents European Press & Analyst Summit 2007. The judges, chosen from an independent panel of industry analysts and senior press representatives from over 30 European publications, singled out Alcatel-Lucent’s 7750 Service Router (SR) as the top carrier product. The award was presented on Feb 22, 2007 in Evian, France.
The Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR was considered a solid product with many options, allowing the creation of a migration path for customers, including pseudowire emulation, superior scalability, provisioning that offers frame relay & ATM support and quality of service. Andy Buss, Senior Analyst at Canalys commented “Alcatel-Lucent has seen tremendous growth in the IP edge router market for a combination of flexibility of configuration, robust operating system, non-stop routing on IPv4 and IPv6, subscriber management, throughput and provisioning of advanced services such as VPLS and pseudowires. With such a strong performance in a short space of time, it is a deserving winner of NetEvents Carrier Product of the Year 2007.”
Mike Calabrese, Alcatel-Lucent’s Vice President of IP activities in EMEAsaid “We are delighted to be receiving this award with so many of Europe’s top industry press representatives present. We designed the 7750 SR to give providers the service flexibility to achieve the service continuity, service richness and service assurance critical to ensuring customer satisfaction and market leadership.”
