AT&T Opens New Customer Briefing Centre in Singapore
AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has established a state-of-the-art customer briefing centre (CBC) in Singapore to showcase the latest in global IP services and solutions to businesses and multinational customers in Singapore and from around the region. The Singapore CBC will also provide customers with a live environment to test and evaluate their AT&T-based services.
The first of its kind for AT&T in the Asia Pacific region, the Singapore CBC is part of AT&T’s global enterprise capital program. The company recently announced that it will invest US$750 million in its global business as part of a multibillion dollar 2007 capital investment programme. The new CBC joins other Network Operations Centres located in the UK and the US to form an important hub in AT&T’s global network monitoring and services delivery infrastructure.
“Singapore is an important regional and global network hub for AT&T and we will continue to invest in and grow our operations in the country,” said Collis Loh, country general manager for AT&T Singapore. “The new CBC will allow customers to test and deploy new services and solutions from AT&T, as well as tap in to our in-house engineering expertise — within a purpose-built environment.”
The significance of the CBC is that it enables AT&T to showcase technologies and services on a live proof-of-concept global network. Customers will be able to observe for themselves the quality and performance of AT&T’s services such as voice, video and data over MPLS, disaster recovery, and network-based firewall services. New and non-standard services can also be tested and demonstrated at the CBC. In addition to hosting the customer briefing centre in the Asia Pacific region, Singapore has also become the main service and support hub for the region with multi-lingual, 24/7 helpdesk support. Asia Pacific is AT&T’s fastest growing region worldwide.
